"a triumph of light, space and design...a building that looks more like a swish hotel than a care home."

Chatterbox Magazine, Summer 2021

Eilean Dubh

This stunning addition to the Parklands group opened in early 2021. Offering 40 en-suite rooms in a beautiful country setting overlooking the Moray Firth, this state of the art facility aims to raise the bar on care home living in the Highlands. Reflecting the heritage and culture of its Highland setting, it is named Eilean Dubh, Gaelic for Black Isle.

Eilean Dubh has been designed in the style of a farm steading to complement its rural location.

Styled with care (and flair)

Combining elegance with a contemporary Highland flair, Eilean Dubh offers 40 en-suite rooms in a picturesque location close to Chanonry Point and within walking distance of the centre of Fortrose.

The main focal point is the spacious and beautifully furnished atrium lobby which serves as the social hub of the care home and includes a hair salon, seating areas and a cafe bar. There is space to relax and unwind throughout Eilean Dubh, with several quiet rooms and lounges.

Rooms with a view

Eilean Dubh is furnished to an exceptionally high standard and boasts a contempoary Highland theme throughout.

Our 40 en-suite bedrooms are designed to make you feel at home. There's plenty space for your personal belongings and room to welcome family and friends.

Many rooms offer outstanding views of Fort George and the Moray Firth. Residents can also take in the sea view from the courtyard garden.

About Fortrose

The coastal town of Fortrose is the largest on the Black Isle - not an island, but a peninsula - and a busy administrative and commercial centre. It is also a popular tourist destination, attracting walkers, golfers and dolphin watchers. Chanonry Point offers outstanding views of Fort George and the Moray Firth, home to hundreds of bottlenose dolphins. Famous landmarks include the town's 13th century Cathedral and the Brahan Seer monument in tribute to the 17th century Highland prophet.
