Parklands Care Homes is an award winning care company established in Buckie in 1993. The company is now one of the largest independent care home providers in the north of Scotland, offering almost 400 care placements at its 11 care homes in Moray and Highland. Parklands is a major employer in the region with over 750 staff.
Parklands is well regarded in the communities it serves, not only as a care provider but as an employer and as a good neighbour. Support for local communities is important to Parklands.
All of Parklands staff are recruited from the communities in which it operates. Everyone - no matter their role - is encouraged to develop new skills. A career development programme ensures that employees can progress through the business, working in a variety of front line and managerial roles. Many of Parklands' senior staff joined in more junior roles and have progressed through the organisation. The majority of Parkland's staff have been with the organisation for 10 years or more.
Parklands Care Homes is an award-winning care provider known for being a progressive employer and delivering high-quality care.
In 2020, it won the Best Smaller Care Home Group (<50 homes) award and the Best for Communication award at the national Care Home Awards. Parklands has 11 care homes across Moray and the Highlands. Since 2014, Parklands has invested £16 million on new care homes.
Its most recent investments include 40 bed care homes in Grantown and Fortrose. Work is currently underway on the first phase of a multi-million pound care hub in Inverness, comprising a 58 bed care home and a later living village consisting of 11 homes. Parklands has also secured planning approval to build 24 affordable homes for rent for key workers in Inverness (pictured).
Parklands also has ambitious plans to develop new care facilities in Elgin, Turriff and Alford.
Parklands prides itself on serving small largely rural communities, from where it draws the majority of its staff. Our care homes are rooted in the community; we welcome local nurseries, schools, churches and community groups into our care homes, we support local charities and sports groups, and we actively use local suppliers.
Our continuing investment in the north of Scotland supports the local construction sector and the wider supply chain.
Parklands is a proud member of Inverness Chamber of Commerce and Moray Chamber of Commerce.
